About Us

HandFootball will be the fastest growing sport in the World. Part flag football, part soccer, with soccer being eligible 100% of the time. Everyone on the team gets to throw, catch, kick, and run with the ball.

Currently HandFootball is played with a full size volleyball, but we are in the process of designing a ball that is even more perfect for HandFootball. Currently, do not pump the volleyball up fully, leave a little bit of give so all hand sizes are able to squeeze the ball a little bit.

We play official games on Soccer Fields and American Football Fields. At the end of each end of the field we have a goal that is 12 feet wide and 8 feet tall. If your just playing pick up and don't have an official goal, no worries, just place 2 cones (or any other implements 12 feet apart from each other.) For height during a pickup game, we say visualize how high the goalie can stretch out their fully standing out stretched hands above their head, and shots on goal cannot be higher than that. If you are playing pickup, do not worry about the size of your field, just play on a field that feels comfortable for the amount of people you have playing.

Both teams start out "with hands". Meaning your team can advance the ball down the field by throwing and catching the ball, everyone is an eligible receiver and thrower. As soon as the ball hits the ground though, your team "loses hands." But you don't lose possession, just immediately start playing soccer. You can keep playing soccer, and then when the ball touches any part of a player from the other team, your team would regain the ability to use your hands. Can you refuse hands?  Yes, this is a very important concept to understand. Lets say your team "loses hands", starts to play soccer and the other team touches the ball with their feet, you have now "regained hands", since the ball touched the other team, but if you bent down and grabbed the ball to throw it, the other team would immediately tag you ( in a pick up game), or pull your flag in an official game, and you would lose possession, so you decide to "refuse hands", meaning you "have hands", but you don't touch the ball with your hands until you can get the ball to space away from your opponents, and safely pick up the ball with your hands, so you don't get tagged, or have your flag pulled.
